The genres are equally diverse, covering everything from action and Anime to LGBTQ and Thriller. Their geographic diversity is excellent with films from 15 countries, including Mongolia, Philippines and Thailand. When both services are streaming the same show, I end up watching on Kocowa because the captions are completed faster.Īsian Crush is a free legal site that has a great selection of films to watch without becoming a member. Viki and Kocowa are my main sources for legal Asian dramas. I'm in the States and watch Asian dramas a la carte via multiple platforms. I took a peek at it last night, and was startled to recognize Eun-ho from THE BEAUTY INSIDE wielding a sword - and a mane of glory - in a bamboo grove. Another reincarnation tale with a Joseon timeline. I watched the multi-part drama special / TV movie SNOW LOTUS on Nexflix a couple of years ago under the title LUCID DREAM. The 2-part drama special 400-YEARS DREAM also deals with reincarnation in a satisfying way, and is available in the US on KBS World TV.Ī 400-Year-Old Dream Ep.1 Ī 400-Year-Old Dream Ep.2 Even with dubious subtitles, the story is really touching. I was reminded last night of the film TRY TO REMEMBER / HAVE WE MET?, which has a nice Joseon timeline and is ingeniously based on a real-life archaeological find. But every so often, I encounter a good sageuk film, and that makes me happy. (which all too often are squandered, dang it). suk, I generally prefer dramas because of the greater opportunity for character development, nifty plot twists, etc. Maybe one of the Minions will report on it for us. I haven't gotten around to watching MEMORIES OF THE SWORD, so that may tide me this is the first I've heard of the production. You're most welcome, kx! I'm happy as a clam over this news.
